Welcome! Back from Summer Break!
Hope EVERYONE! had a Super Summer!
 
This week, we will introduce Policies and Procedures in Physical Education classes; handout and collect Policy/Health Form; issue PE Uniforms; complete FitnessGram/PE Goal Sheet.

May 20 - May 24, 2019

This week we will have multiple activities going on, during Physical Education classes. Students will NOT dress out in their PE Uniform, but MUST have appropriate shoes for participating.

May 6 - May 10, 2019

This week, we will continue our Speed, Agility and Strength approach to our general fitness program, just adding a little distance, to the activity. (We continue to direct students to improve their heart-health, by achieving 20 minutes in their individual Target Heart Rate Training Zone. Students monitor their achievements wearing their POLAR Heart Rate monitors.) 
 
We will be formatively assessing students this week in the PAER Run and graphing results.
 
Plus, this week, we will assess students, with a written test on Volleyball. Students will be using their iPad, therefore, students need to bring their iPad, charged, to class.
 
Additionally, we will be formatively assessing students, in the game of Volleyball, later in the week.

Aril 29 - May 3, 2019

This week, we will continue our Speed, Agility and Strength approach to our general fitness program, just adding a little distance, to the activity. (We continue to direct students to improve their heart-health, by achieving 20 minutes in their individual Target Heart Rate Training Zone. Students monitor their achievements wearing their POLAR Heart Rate monitors.)
 
Additionally, we will Formatively, assess students in the game of Volleyball.
 
In preparation, for our Volleyball Test, the week of May 6 - 10, 2019, Study Guides have been posted on Schoology, and review session will be held during class..

April 22 - April 26, 2019

This week, we will continue our Speed, Agility and Strength approach to our general fitness program, just adding a little distance, to the activity. Students monitor their achievements wearing their POLAR Heart Rate monitors.)
 
Additionally, we will Formatively, assess students in FitnessGram Fitness Testing: Mile Run. 

April 15 - April 19, 2019

This week, we will continue our Speed, Agility and Strength approach to our general fitness program, just adding a little distance, to the activity.
 
In addition, we will begin running, an 8 minute run (our practice Mile Run), when weather permits, in preparation for our Mile Run Test.(We continue to direct students to improve their heart-health, by achieving 20 minutes in their individual Target Heart Rate Training Zone. Students monitor their achievements wearing their POLAR Heart Rate monitors.)
 
Additionally, we will continue and Formatively, assess students in the game of Volleyball. 

April 8 - April 12, 2019

This week, we will continue our Speed, Agility and Strength approach to our general fitness program, just adding a little distance, to the activity. Plus, we will continue, due to cooler temperatures, this time of the year, our aerobic training, running laps in gym, to music on the Fit Run app, and/or, running a modified Pacer Run. Should we have some warmer days, we will get outside, to run. (We continue to direct students to improve their heart-health, by achieving 20 minutes in their individual Target Heart Rate Training Zone. Students monitor their achievements wearing their POLAR Heart Rate monitors.)
 
Additionally, we will continue and Formatively, assess students FitnessGram Testing: Sit-Ups, Push-Ups, Sit and Reach, Pull-Ups and Pacer Run. Students will be graphing their Pacer Run results.
 
In addition, we will begin running our practice Mile Run, when weather permits, in preparation for our Mile Run Test.

April 1 - April 5, 2019

This week, we will continue our Speed, Agility and Strength approach to our general fitness program, just adding a little distance, to the activity. Plus, we will continue, due to cooler temperatures, this time of the year, our aerobic training, running laps in gym, to music on the Fit Run app, and/or, running a modified Pacer Run. Should we have some warmer days, we will get outside, to run. (We continue to direct students to improve their heart-health, by achieving 20 minutes in their individual Target Heart Rate Training Zone. Students monitor their achievements wearing their POLAR Heart Rate monitors.)
 
Additionally, we will continue and Formatively, assess students FitnessGram Testing: Pull-Ups and Pacer Run. Pacer Run (6th Grade) will be the final chapter of the U of Memphis Study,(Go-No-Go Study) plus students will be graphing their Pacer Run results.

March 25 - March 29, 2019

This week, we will continue our Speed, Agility and Strength approach to our general fitness program, just adding a little distance, to the activity. Plus, we will continue, due to cooler temperatures, this time of the year, our aerobic training, running laps in gym, to music on the Fit Run app, and/or, running a modified Pacer Run. Should we have some warmer days, we will get outside, to run. (We continue to direct students to improve their heart-health, by achieving 20 minutes in their individual Target Heart Rate Training Zone. Students monitor their achievements wearing their POLAR Heart Rate monitors.)
 
Additionally, we will continue and Formatively, assess students FitnessGram Testing: Sit and Reach, Push-Ups, and Sit-Ups.
 
Written Test will be given at the conclusion of the Fitness Test ing Unit - Fitness and Health.

March 18 - March 22, 2019

Plus, we will continue, due to cooler temperatures, this time of the year, our aerobic training, running laps in gym, to music on the Fit Run app, and/or, running a modified Pacer Run. Early, in the week, we will be running the Pacer Run, and students will graph, their results. We continue to encourage students to perform better than, the previous month.
