Wednesday: Complete decision matrix, shopping, begin building

Agenda for the Week of February 10-14

Learning Target: I can predict and test kill-a-watt usage in basic items.
Monday: Demo Day: Sort through the 16 items and predict their usage. Then begin testing.
Tuesday: Finish testing and study final results.
Wednesday: Begin brainstorming and sketching ideas to create a wind turbine.
Thursday: Complete brainstorming and 2 sketches for building.
Friday: Shop for building supplies.

Learning Target: I can learn about and compare ecological footprints.
 
Monday: Take the quiz on what your personal ecological footprint is on our planet.
Tuesday: Using the ecological footprint website and four scenarios, compare how other children are living their life to yours.

Agenda for the Week of December 9-13

Learning Target: I can create a multi view sketch of a three dimensional object.
Monday:
Finish multi view sketches of the four Disney shapes and turn a Pic Collage into Schoology.
Create a shape of your choice and complete a multi view sketch of the shape. Create a Flip Grid Video about your shape and your multi view sketch.
Tuesday:
Finish Flip Grid video and give feedback to 3 students
 
Learning Target: I can create a therapeutic toy.
Wednesday: 
Find the possible combinations of blocks to make shapes for a therapeutic toy.
 
Thursday and Friday:
Using possible combinations of shapes, begin building possible therapeutic toys and testing their difficulty.

Brainstorm and sketch ideas for AFO project.
 
Wednesday:
Groups for AFO project.
Complete a Decision Matrix for your group
Begin working on final sketches that came from the decision matrix
 
Thursday:
Halloween Tangram activity
 
Friday:
Continue working on sketches and supplies and materials list.

Build and Test the second version of your design.
Document in engineering notebooks, with pictures and videos
Make any additional changes
 
Tuesday-Thursday
Work on final presentations
Presentations will include: evidence from each step of the design process

Friday:
Share final presentations with the class

Monday:
Watch PLTW introduction to the design process video, make reference sheet
 
Tuesday:
Introduce design challenge. (Define Problem)
 
Wednesday:
Begin generating concepts to solve the design challenge.
Some will begin sketching (design solutions)
 
Thursday:
Continue sketching
-a minimum of 2 sketches
-each sketch must include measurements
-a product and price list must also be included for each sketch
 
Friday:
