About Me

My name is Ms. Mahoney and I am so excited for my first year at West! I am a graduate of the University of Memphis with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Art Education. I have experience creating art with many different age groups (pre-k all the way up to eighth grade!) I especially love art in the middle school setting as it provides the opportunity for students to find themselves as both an artist and a person. I have great interest in all things art related and hope to instill that same interest in my students! This year we will explore all sorts of materials, artists, and movements together through a variety of projects and lessons. Art is an important aspect and contribution to our lives as well as our education. Art is an outlet to apply our knowledge in different and interesting ways. IT IS VITAL. I am beyond grateful to share what I value most with my students this year!!!
