Welcome Back!!!

Welcome  back WCMS!  I hope you had a great summer and spent some time relaxing and reading!  If you found some new books we might need in our WCMS library, please stop by the library and let me know!  I can't wait to hear about your summer and we can compare notes about some new books!!

New Books In The Library!!!

Hi WCMS Dragons!  We are excited to introduce some great new books in the WCMS library!  We ordered the books that you suggested and they look great and are ready for check-out!  Please stop by and visit the library and check them out!!

Winter Break Bingo Card

Hello WCMS Students!  I have included a Winter Break Reading Bingo card challenge!  Look at the card and see if you can complete each square during our Winter Break!  If you complete the entire page - let me know when we get back!  There might be a small reward for your dedication to reading!
Even if you don't attempt the Bingo card, please try to find some time to read during your break.  You can read our ebooks by going to and log in as a shared user.  That means all of us have the same username and password.  That will allow you to read the ebooks, but not check them out.  The username is wcms (all lowercase) and the password is dragons (all lowercase).  Enjoy!

Welcome Back!!!

Welcome to the WCMS Library!  Mrs. Speroff and I have been very busy - along with a few very good volunteers - trying to get our library ready for you!  21,000 books came over to our new school in boxes and we are getting them on the shelves for you to enjoy!  I have missed you this summer!  I hope you all have a very nice summer and got a chance to spend some time with a good book!  We will have library soon and we can talk about some great new books that I have read and want to share with you!  Happy Reading!!!

Warm Up With A Good Book!

The winter months are the best time to curl up with some hot chocolate and a good book!  It is too cold to spend much time outside - so no better time to read than now.  We have some great books to choose from and don't forget our E-Library!  There is an app on your IPAD (Discovery) or you can find it at  Your username is the first letter of your first name + . + your last name.  (n.france).  Your password is 12345.  Enjoy!!!  We are just about to add 300 more books to our elibrary!

Encyclopedia Britannica!

We are reviewing Encyclopedia Britannica in the library!  The students are working through research questions to make themselves familiar with the website.  It is a fantastic website for our students to use with any of their research needs.  Please feel free to use this site with your students!!!

Hello Stallions!  I hope everyone had time to read over the Christmas Break!  We have been busy in the library....All 6th and 7th grade students are now using the e-library!  8th grade students will be trained in January!  You are going to love it!

November in the Library!

We are exploring Encyclopedia Britannica in the SFMS library this month!  The students will find and evaluate different topics and find answers to questions using the website of Britannica Online!  Please share this information with your family.  There are many interesting topics to be discovered on Britannica!

September in the Library!

In September, we will be making book trailers in the library for all SFMS students to enjoy!  We are hoping to have then linked to the library page for students to enjoy from home.  Hopefully - this will give our students some new ideas of possible books to read.  
September is Library Card Month!  Please stop by the Collierville Burch Library to get a library card!  The library has over 50,000 ebooks to choose from and many selections in print form!  Also - take advantage of the book store inside the library lobby.  They have great books for purchase for $1.00!!!!  Hope to see you there!

Battle of the Books!!!!

We are starting our Battle of the Books club.  The first meeting will be Thursday Sept. 8 from 3:15 - 4:15.  The meeting will be held in the art room on the 300 hallway!  I can't wait to see you there!!!

August in the Library!

This month in the library we are discussing the Library Orientation.  The students are reviewing the procedures for using the SFMS library.  We are also discussing the books offered in the book fair!  Please stop by and shop any time during the day!  I'd love to tell you all about the books!
RTI     In our RTI group we are reading and discussing the book Schooled written by Gordon Korman.  It is a wonderful book about a 13 year old boy that will have to attend public school for the first time.  We will discuss the challenges he faces and the lessons learned by all characters.  If you have never read this book - you are encouraged to read and enjoy this book!

Book Fair!!!!!

The Schilling Farms Middle School book fair will be here on August 22-26th!  Please plan to visit the library during this time to shop or attend our Open House Book Fair on August 23rd in the gym from 5:30-7:30.  I have seen the book selection and we are getting some great books!!!  Please encourage your family to take time to read!
