CLEP Information
The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) is a program that enables students to earn college credit for introductory-level courses by achieving satisfactory scores on subject-specific tests.
STEP 1: WATCH the CLEP Informational video at the top of this page.
STEP 2: Go to the Modern States website to create an account:
Modern States’ initial program, Tennessee Freshman Year for Free™, is intended to let students earn up to one year of college credit without tuition or textbook expense. You must finish the Modern States program in order to apply for the free voucher. Be sure to write down your usernames and passwords in a secure location.
STEP 3: COMPLETE the Modern States program(s) - US History 1 and/or Natural Sciences and apply for your voucher through the Modern States website.
STEP 4: PRACTICE, PRACTICE the CLEP exams provided for you in Schoology.
STEP 5: Once you have received your voucher from Modern States, go to the CLEP website to create an account and pay for the exam:
You can pay for the exam by using the free voucher you received from Modern States. Or you pay the test fee and it will be refunded to you by Modern States as long as you receive the voucher from Modern States. It will take 1-5 business days to receive the voucher via your email.
*When prompted, you will register as a 10th grader at Collierville High School from the applicable drop down menus.
Be sure to write down your usernames and passwords in a secure location.
STEP 6: Register to take the exam at a testing location:

You MUST have a Student ID form to take to the testing center if you do not have a government issued form of Identification. The form MUST be signed by a NOTARY OR WCMS!! See Mrs. Turner:
If you are unable to take the exam on the date provided by CHS, you may take it at any where listed on the CLEP website. Some local testing sites are:
University of Memphis Main Campus (fee):
Union University Germantown Campus (fee):
Southwest Community College Macon Location (fee):
