Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP)

The Duke TIP talent search helps gifted students assess the extent of their abilities with above-level testing, recognizes them for their achievements, and provides them with a variety of enrichment benefits. All 6th Grade ELA Honors students have been invited to participate.

Opportunity for an Above-Grade level Test (PSAT 8/9)

Optional

No impact on current grades

Tells how far above grade level a student’s abilities might go

Helps students gain a better understanding of their academic strengths

A way to earn recognition for academic achievement

 

PSAT 8/9

The purpose of the PSAT 8/9 is to establish a starting point in terms of college and career readiness as students transition to high schohttps://tip.duke.edu/programs/4th-6th-grade-talent-searchol. It’s a way for students to practice for the PSAT 10, the PSAT/NMSQT, and the SAT. National Merit scholarships are based on the PSAT taken in 10thgrade.
