When I was asked in the third grade what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer was a teacher. That answer never changed over the years.

I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi State University and began my career in education as a first grade teacher in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. I loved being a teacher but knew I wanted to work with children in a different way. I decided to go back to graduate school at Mississippi State and received my Masters of Arts in Counselor Education.

I continued my career as an elementary school counselor in Brunswick, GA, and discovered I loved working with students in this new capacity. I moved to Tennessee nineteen years ago to begin a new chapter as a middle school counselor at West Collierville Middle. WOW! What an adventure it is to be a middle school counselor. I am beginning my 33rd year in education, and there is never a dull moment!
