No School on Thursday, February 5
After continued evaluation of road conditions, campus access, and transportation routes, all Collierville schools will be closed on Thursday, February 5.
We have seen great improvement today as temperatures have allowed some secondary roads, parking lots, and sidewalks to melt. However, with overnight low temperatures expected to drop into the low 20s, we anticipate that melting ice will refreeze, creating hazardous conditions across neighborhood roads, campuses, and parking areas in the morning.
Safe transportation for students remains a non‑negotiable requirement for reopening schools. Refreezing ice on shaded roads, sidewalks, and bus routes continues to pose safety concerns for student and staff arrival, dismissal, and transportation.
Thursday’s closure marks Day 9 and means we have now used all built-in inclement weather days. We are working closely with the Tennessee Department of Education to ensure our next steps align with state guidance.
We want our students and staff back in our buildings as soon as possible and are continuing to monitor conditions closely. The safety of our students and employees remains our highest priority.
The Collierville High School Parent‑Teacher Conferences and Curriculum Night originally scheduled for February 5 have been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 10. Additionally, Rising Junior Parent Night, originally scheduled for January 29, will also take place on Tuesday, February 10.
