This 6th Grade class meets, 1st Period, Monday thru Friday, in the PE Gym.

February 11 - February 15, 2019

This week, we will continue our Speed, Agility and Strength approach to our general fitness program. Plus, we will continue, due to cooler temperatures, this time of the year, our aerobic training, running laps in gym, to music on the Fit Run app. (We continue to direct students to improve their heart-health, by achieving 20 minutes in their individual Target Heart Rate Training Zone. Students monitor their achievements wearing their POLAR Heart Rate monitors.)
 
Additionally, we will Formatively, assess students basketball skills, by participating in dribbling, passing and shooting drills and small-sided games.

February 4 - February 8, 2019

January 14 - January 18, 2019

This week, we will begin a different approach to our general fitness techniques - Speed, Agility and Strength movement preparation. Plus, we will participate and Graph, our monthly Pacer Run - January.
 
Later in the week, due to cooler temperatures, this time of the year, we will introduce aerobic training, running laps in gym, to music on the Fit Run app. In addition, we will Formatively, assess students basketball skills, playing the game Knockout: Shooting, dribbling and passing.

January 7 - January 11, 2019

WELCOME! BACK from Winter Break. Hope EVERYONE! had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
 
This week, we will review Policies and Procedures in Physical Education classes. In addition, we will review general fitness techniques. Later in the week, we will participate in our monthly Pacer Run.

December 10 - December 14, 2018

This week we will continue to use our music to our General Fitness: warm-up, stretching and strength exercises; we will use the 15 meter Pacer Run, for our aerobic conditioning.
 
We will be continue the game of Bowling, building on the basic skills of grip, stance, 4 Step-approach and swing/release/follow-through. In addition, we will instruct, how to keep score, utilizing general math - addition, in keeping score. Later in the week, will conclude our Bowling unit, playing the game.
 
1st Period, we will also continue, Pickleball; demonstrating basic skills: grip, serve, forward and backward swing. Introduce game-play.

December 3 - December 7, 2018

This week we will add to our music to our General Fitness: warm-up, stretching and strength exercises.
 
We will be continue the game of Bowling, and the basic skills of grip, stance, 4 Step-approach and swing/release/follow-through. 
 
1st Period, we will also continue, Pickleball; demonstrating basic skills: grip, serve, forward and backward swing. Introduce game-play.

November 26 - November 30

This week we will continue with music to our General Fitness: warm-up, stretching and strength exercises.

In a few classes, we will continue Flag Football, and the basic skills of passing, catching, centering (snapping). 
 
A few other classes, we will introduce, a game that has been around, but becoming very popular - Pickleball. We will demonstrate basic skills: grip, serve, forward and backward swing.
 

November 5 - November 9, 2018

This week we will continue with music to our General Fitness: warm-up, stretching and strength exercises.
 
In a few classes, we will introduce Flag Football, and the basic skills of passing, catching, centering (snapping). 
 
A few other classes, we will introduce, a game that has been around, but becoming very popular - Pickleball. We will demonstrate basic skills: grip, serve, forward and backward swing.
 
We will participate our FitnessGram fitness testing complete November Pacer Run and graph student's results.

October 29 - November 2, 2018

This week we will continue with our fitness plans of a brief warm-up, stretching and strength exercises. Plus, continue Soccer, and the basic skills of dribbling, passing and trapping, utilizing drills and small-sided games.
