WELCOME BACK!! from Winter Break
This week, students will begin participating and challenged, in general fitness through participation in our warm-ups, stretching and strength exercises. In addition, students will begin participation in cardiovascular fitness.
 
Policies and Procedures will be reviewed with students, as well.

December 9 - December 13, 2019

This week, students will continue participating and challenged, in general fitness through participation in our warm-ups, stretching and strength exercises - exercising to music. In addition, cardiovascular fitness will begin to gradually increase over the next few weeks.
 
Plus, students will continue participating in Badminton. Students will continue basic skills: Grip for Forehand and Backhand Stroke, Ready Stance, and Underhand Serve; plus, introduction of basic rules and strategies.
 
PLUS, students will continue receiving instruction, POLAR HRM, in benefits of incorporating heart rate monitors, in the daily challenge of trying to become and maintain students fitness.

December 2 - December 6, 2019

This week, students will continue participating and challenged, in general fitness through participation in our warm-ups, stretching and strength exercises - exercising to music. In addition, cardiovascular fitness will begin to gradually increase over the next few weeks.
 
In addition, we will review Class Procedures/Fitness/HRM Guidelines and complete the Pacer Run for the month of December (graph).
 
Plus, students will begin Badminton. Students will be introduced to basic skills: Grip for Forehand and Backhand Stroke, Ready Stance, and Underhand Serve; plus, introduction of basic rules and strategies.

November 18 - November 22, 2019

This week, students will continue participating and challenged, in general fitness through participation in our warm-ups, stretching and strength exercises - exercising to music. In addition, cardiovascular fitness will begin to gradually increase over the next few weeks.
 
In addition, students will begin GAME PLAY in Ultimate Frisbee/Ball. Students have been introduced to basic skills of the Backhand Throw and Forehand Throw; and, one-hand (underhand and overhand), two hand catch and Pancake catch; plus, introduction of basic rules and strategies.
 
PLUS, students will continue receiving instruction, POLAR HRM, in benefits of incorporating heart rate monitors, in the daily challenge of trying to become and maintain students fitness.

November 11 - November 15, 2019

This week, students will continue participating and challenged, in general fitness through participation in our warm-ups, stretching and strength exercises - exercising to music. In addition, cardiovascular fitness will begin to gradually increase over the next few weeks.
 
In addition, students will begin participation in Ultimate Frisbee/Ball. Students will be introduced to basic skills of the backhand Throw and one-hand (underhand and overhand), two hand catch and Pancake catch; plus, introduction of basic rules and strategies.

In addition, students will participate in Pickle Ball; to continue learning the basic skills of the Underhand Serve, backhand stroke and forehand stroke; plus, introduction of rules and strategies.
 
In addition, this week, we have our Unit Test in Pickle Ball - Friday. Tuesday and Thursday, we will run our Monthly Pacer.
 
PLUS, students will continue receiving instruction, POLAR HRM, in benefits of incorporating heart rate monitors, in the daily challenge of trying to become and maintain students fitness.

October 28 - November 1, 2019

This week, students will continue participating in general fitness through participation in our warm-ups, stretching and strength exercises - exercising to music. In addition, cardiovascular fitness will begin to gradually increase over the next few weeks.
 
In addition, students will participate in Pickle Ball; to continue learning the basic skills of the Underhand Serve, backhand stroke and forehand stroke; plus, introduction of rules and strategies.
 
In addition, our Study Guide is posted on Schoology for our Unit Test next week on Pickle Ball.

In addition, students will participate in the Mile Run, concluding our Pre-Test Physical Fitness Test.
 
PLUS, students will continue receiving instruction, POLAR HRM, in benefits of incorporating heart rate monitors, in the daily challenge of trying to become and maintain students fitness.

September 30 - October 4, 2019

This week, students will continue participating in general fitness through participation in our warm-ups, stretching and strength exercises. In addition, cardiovascular fitness will begin to gradually increase over the next few weeks.
 
In addition, students will participate in our monthly Pacer Run and graphing their individual results. The anticipated result is to demonstrate gradual improvement over the course of the year.
 
Plus, students will participate in the practice Mile Run, in which the Mile Run test takes place, next week.
 
PLUS, students will be issued POLAR HRM, and begin receiving instruction in benefits of incorporating heart rate monitors, in the daily challenge of trying to become and maintain students fitness.

September 23 - September 27, 2019

This week, students will continue participating in general fitness through participation in our warm-ups, stretching and strength exercises. In addition, cardiovascular fitness will begin to gradually increase over the next few weeks.
 
Plus, students will continue participating in our Golf Unit. Students will receive instruction and practice: grip, approach, stance and swing (Chipping). In addition, due to weather, students will receive instruction and practice: grip, approach, stance and swing (Putting).
 
Students will take a written test in Golf (3 day and 5 day PE Classes).
 
PLUS, students will be issued POLAR HRM, and begin receiving instruction in benefits of incorporating heart rate monitors, in the daily challenge of trying to become and maintain students fitness.

September 16 - September 20, 2019

This week, students will continue participating in general fitness through participation in our warm-ups, stretching and strength exercises. In addition, cardiovascular fitness will begin to gradually increase over the next few weeks.
 
Plus, students will continue participating in our Golf Unit. Students will receive instruction and practice: grip, approach, stance and swing (Chipping). In addition, due to weather, students will receive instruction and practice: grip, approach, stance and swing (Putting).
 
Students will be instructed in use of Golf Study guide (Schoology) in preparation of written test, next week.
 
PLUS, students will prepare for use of POLAR HRM.

September 9 - September 13, 2019

This week, students will continue participating in general fitness through participation in our warm-ups, stretching and strength exercises. In addition, cardiovascular fitness will begin to gradually increase over the next few weeks.
 
Plus, students will begin participating in our Golf Unit. Students will receive instruction and practice: grip, approach, stance and swing (Chipping). 
 
PLUS, student/parents need to access Schoology and go to their Physical Education class; scan the POLAR, QR Consent Code and complete the very short document. Wednesday, September 11, will be the deadline to submit.

September 3 - September 6, 2019

This week, students will continue participating in Pre-testing in FitnessGram Fitness Test. In addition, students will continue to learn different muscle groups and their association/actions, in our warm-ups/stretching/strength exercises, and individual fitness tests.
 
This weeks tests will include:
Pacer Run
Make-Ups
 
PLUS, student/parents need to access Schoology and go to their Physical Education class; scan the POLAR, QR Consent Code and complete the very short document.

August 26 - August 30, 2019

This week, students will participate in Pre-testing in FitnessGram Fitness Test. In addition, students will begin to learn different muscle groups and their association/actions, in our warm-ups/stretching/strength exercises, and individual fitness tests.
